Ray is an experienced and proven business leader who has worked in the underground utilities and telecommunication sector for more than 20 years. In his career, Ray has steadily progressed through the ranks by effectively managing the commercial outcomes, applying strong negotiation skills and having a genuine commitment to his employees’ success to deliver exceptional results.

Ray was appointed CEO in March 2015 and has steered the group through innumerable challenges whilst maintaining trust, loyalty and engagement. Driven by the lessons learned in the field, Ray has created an environment that honours the company values and provides innovative solutions for customers to ensure the continued success of Connect 8 Ltd.




Jonathan has managed many multi-million-dollar programmes of work in the mobile technology arena, globally. During his 20-year tenure, he has a long-standing record for successfully delivering complex projects for organisations such as Nokia, Ericsson, Telstra, Vodafone and Huawei. Backed with formal engineering systems and project management training, Jonathan has been at the heart of the mobile technology advancements from the early days of 2G through to the current development of 5G networks.

At Connect 8 Ltd, Jonathan leads the Network Services team, which has already delivered more than 650 Wireless Broadband (WBB), Single RAN (SRAN) and Internet of Things (IoT) sites. His highly experienced team are at the forefront of mobile network deployment and have swiftly gained a solid reputation in the market.




Harp has over 10 years’ experience in Health, Safety and Risk with the last five years being purely focussed on Health and Safety. Harp spent a number of years leading many significant investigations into workplace accidents providing her with experience in a broad range of industries and high risk environments.

At Connect 8 Harp is focussed on developing and implementing health, safety and wellness systems that effectively encompasses the entire organisation.

Rajesh Singh has been the GM Value Management for Spark New Zealand since 2017. Value Management is responsible for Capital Management, Devices Ranging and PLM, OPEX and Domain Management, Software, License and Asset Management Procurement, Supply Chain, Partnerships, Strategic Supplier Management and Inventory.

Prior to this role Rajesh was General Manager, Partnering, Procurement & Supply Chain, a role he held since 2016 after joining Spark in 2009. He is also currently a Director of the Board of Connect 8 and Chairman of the Telegistics Board, both of which are subsidiaries of Spark.

Rajesh previously worked in South Africa for various Network, I.T. and e-commerce organisations. He managed procurement for 8 mobile operations and 16 voice data operations across Africa. He also headed up Wholesale Voice for group (mobile operators) and was the regional director for voice data operations.

Rajesh was the Financial Director and a Board Member for Venture Communications Group spanning 8 countries in Africa. Venture Communications was an infrastructure build company working on behalf of all the major telcos and vendors. He also managed the Group’s finance and procurement activity and was the Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee.

Prior to that he held various finance and procurement roles in South Africa including in I.T. and Gaming companies and has over 17 years experience in strategic sourcing, category management, relationship management, business development and financial management.




An executive with more than 35 years’ experience in the technology and telecommunications sectors, David is now a non-executive Director on a number of Boards including Southern Cross Cables Network, KiwiWealth and Kordia.

David was previously Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Spark New Zealand and held executive and management positions in IBM Asia Pacific, Cable & Wireless and BT.




Neil is the Chief Executive at Electra. He joined the Connect 8 board as a non-executive Director in May 2018. Neil has held a number of senior leadership roles in the utilities sector and working groups focussed on smart network technology. He is currently on the board of the Electricity Networks Association.

A qualified Engineer and Fellow of Engineers NZ with an EMBA from Europe’s leading business school (IMD in Switzerland), Neil brings an excellent balance of technical and strategic business skills to the board.

David is the Group CFO/CIO at Electra. David is a strategic leader having held leadership roles within energy, aged care, agricultural biotech and financial services. He is focused on delivered value, while developing strong business partnerships, managing risk and maintaining the highest standards of compliance.


David started his career in tax at PWC in Auckland in 1995. He has worked in global companies based out of the UK and his experience covers Investment Banking and Equities at Credit Lyonnais Securities and Robert W Baird, Private Equity at Charterhouse Capital Partners, 8 Miles and Headway Capital Partners, Agricultural Biotechnology at CRV Ambreed and Compliance Programme Management at BNZ.


In 2017, David graduated with a Sloan Masters in Strategy from London Business School, the schools most senior executive qualification. David also holds a Master of Laws in International Taxation from Queen Mary University London and Undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Economic History from Victoria University of Wellington.
